Is professor of cardiology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, chairman of the Heart Rhythm Management Center at the Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel and director of the postgraduate program in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Born and raised in Milan, Italy, he graduated in cardiology at the Universitaʻ degli Studi di Milano. He then completed his specialisation in electrophysiology and cardiac pacing at UZ Brussel, under the guidance and mentorship of prof. P. Brugada.
He specialises in cardiac pathophysiology, cardiac electrophysiology including Brugada syndrome, channelopathies, ventricular and supraventricular arrhythmias and neurocardiology. He has recently developed a new strategy for the treatment of inappropriate tachycardias. Finally, he and his colleagues have developed a unique hybrid programme for cardiac arrhythmias.
