Full Professor in Cardiology at the VUB, director of the Atrial Fibrillation Programme of the Heart Rhythm Management Center and co-director of the postgraduate programme in cardiac electrophysiology and pacingin the VUB

Born in Pisa, he completed his studies between London and Milan. He graduated in the Università degli Studi Milano. He subsequently specialized in cardiac electrophysiology in Aalst under the mentorship of Prof. Brugada.

He is specialised in the treatment of all forms of rhythm disturbances. Particularly, in the percutaneous ablation of atrial fibrillation. In this specific fireld he has authored many pivotal scientifc articles.
